MaST’s Business Ready Academy

A recent CBI survey said that employers found the vast majority of people arriving for their first job did not have enough skills in several business areas.
So, to help equip graduates and non-graduates with the requirements employers want, MaST ran their second Business Ready Academy in April for 10 participants (aged 18-25) who were looking for employment. We ran eight modules, over six days to help them gain the skills that they will need in a work environment:
- Influencing
- Negotiating
- Leadership
- Problem Solving
- Business Writing
- Self Management
- Commercial Awareness
- Interviewing
During their time with us, the participants were engaged in the interactive sessions and challenged with day to day business scenarios.
All of the participants have told us that they feel much more confident after the Business Ready Academy, and four of them have since had successful interviews and will start their new jobs shortly.
We hope to hear soon that the others have also been successful in finding a role to suit them, and wish them all good luck in their future careers.
