Case study - Global Financial Services Organisation (1) (GFSO)
Business need
This GFSO identified an opportunity to transform the skills of the people in their procurement department to enable them to become agents of change within the business. Their vision was that the global procurement team could influence internal stakeholders in order to enable them to make the best, most cost effective decisions. However, the procurement team numbered 150, was spread across the globe and were making decisions in both local and category silos. This initiative was aiming to change the paradigms of people and the organisation in order for the best decisions to be made efficiently and consistently across the business.
MaST Solution
MaST designed a 3 day learning and development programme called ‘From Procurement Professional to Change Agent’. It was delivered in Amsterdam, Brazil, Chicago and London, in local languages as necessary. The content of the programme included influencing, problem solving and managing change and the delivery style was engaging and different, using techniques such as theatre.
Outcome
The outcome was a dramatic change in behaviour, the learning and development gave the procurement professionals a common language and approach with which to address change. The visuals from the course were displayed on the walls throughout the offices and the techniques learnt became the modus operandii. As a result of the intervention problems are now resolved across procurement and the old silo mentality has reduced.
The GFSO was so delighted with the outcomes of the MaST programme that the Head of Procurement created a special award for MaST in recognition of our contribution to their business.
