Case study - European Financial Institution (EFI)
Business need
MaST has provided a broad range of communication skills and management courses for this EFI since its formation some fifteen years ago. The ongoing business need is for a supplier who has experience in the financial sector and can draw effectively on that experience in order to make learning and development relevant and effective. The EFI also requires a supplier who can be sensitive to complex cross-cultural issues as they employ a total of forty-seven different nationalities. They need the a learning and development organisation whose people are not phased by a group of twelve delegates for whom only three have English as their first language and are able to ensure that everyone can engage and participate.
The purpose of the programmes is to develop people within the EFI and to continuously improve the management cadre of the organisation as a whole.
MaST solution
MaST delivers a suite of management and communication skills courses, which have been developed in close partnership with the learning and development team. All elements of the course fully integrate with the EFI’s cultural model. We have set a high standard for delivery, which requires cultural sensitivity and an appreciation of language difficulties.
We have supported the intention of the EFI to foster a sense of belonging to the organisation as a whole by bringing delegates to their headquarters in London to take part in the training.
Outcome
The ongoing nature of this contract over 15 years is a testament to the success of the MaST intervention. MaST has played a large part over this time in developing a positive organisational attitude towards learning and development. The culture within the EFI is moving from a hierarchical knowledge based culture towards a coaching culture, this is seen as a modernisation of the EFI. Overall MaST is seen as having strong experience and ability in a multicultural environment and is seen as proficient in ensuring effective learning outcomes for all participants, which have an positive impact on the business.
