Our People

Kit Thacker

Within MaST, Kit has two responsibilities. He runs MaST Theatre part of MaST Theatre and Film as well as providing the Diversity and Employment Law training for public and private sector clients.

MaST Theatre provides professional actors, writers and directors for a variety of programme. These run from role plays to interactive training and complex conferences. The team also runs presentation training based on theatre techniques to achieve Impact and Presence. These can be with groups or one to one. Kit also writes speeches for senior execs.

Kit spent seven years as Chief Executive of two public sector companies and a further three years as Director of private one. He has written, produced or directed more than a hundred plays, videos or television programmes all over the world. He has worked in the conference industry and in advertising and was one of the originators of interactive theatre as a training technique in the UK.

Career background

After University, Kit trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He was an actor for ten years appearing in three films, numerous television programmes and more than 100 plays. In 1984 he turned to writing and directing, and besides running two major theatre companies in the UK, he has directed professionally all over the world. In 1997 he was named as one of the top 50 Directors in Britain by Variety Magazine.

He has taught at several of the leading UK drama schools and is a course tutor at Drama Studio London. His plays have been produced professionally on radio television and the theatre. More recently he has directed several star names reading books for silksoundbooks.com

He is Associate Director of 13th Night, a New York based theatre company.

Specialist field – Theatre & Diversity

As a writer, producer, director and facilitator, Kit has worked with numerous clients in both the public and private sectors. He also developed MaST’s cross-cultural offering, including the PRESENT© model.

Recent examples

  • Developed the company values for a global pharmaceutical company. Ran workshops throughout Europe training managers to role out the values. This was supported by an interactive DVD produced by MaST Film.
  • Writing speeches for senior Execs and preparing them for specific presentations.
  • An international product launch conference for the new drug.
  • Carrying out a major Diversity Audit for a Government Agency.
  • Diversity training with professional actors for a wide variety of public and private sector clients.
  • Lengthy theatre based Graduate programmes for several banks.
  • Managing Change programmes within the retail and motoring sectors
  • Equal Opportunities and Diversity training for middle managers within, transport industries, hospital trusts and education
  • Kit has facilitated several conferences with audiences up to 1000.
  • He writes speeches and coaches several senior executives prior to specific presentations.
