Paul Stuart

Paul Stuart

Paul joined MaST in 2002 to set-up and run the Asia Pacific operation in Singapore. His role in MaST includes business development, programme design and course delivery, and he has programme management responsibility for an Investment Bank's Strategic Influencing course in the Asia Pacific region.

Paul's background includes more than 20 years experience in the airline industry with British Airways, Scandinavian Airlines and Cathay Pacific, where he worked in a wide range of functions including Human Resources, Operational Management and Project Management. In the latter role he was Project Director for two major construction projects including a US$ 225 million airline catering facility at the new Hong Kong airport. Paul has spent 11 years in the Far East including 5 years in Hong Kong and 6 in Singapore.

Career background

Prior to joining MaST Paul was Managing Director of a specialist industrial planning and design consultancy and was responsible for widening the company's activities into both new industry sectors and geographical areas. Paul's first roles in British Airways were in the HR department and included responsibility for general personnel management, job evaluation, recruitment and selection and supervisory training.

Throughout his line management experience he has continued to be involved in HR and Training issues including re-developing a supervisory benefits package, designing a performance management and development scheme and preparing a variety of skills programmes.

Other qualifications and experience

  • Graduate member of the Certified Institute of Personnel and Development
  • HND Business Studies (Distinction)
  • Certified Strengths Deployment Inventory (SDI) facilitator

Specialist field

Paul has a special interest in the area of leadership skills and given the combination of his extensive managerial experience and proven facilitation skills has a particular aptitude in the demonstration and development of effective leadership skills.

Due to his considerable international experience Paul also has extensive knowledge of the added complexities involved in cross-cultural management.

  • Influencing Skills, for a Consumer Products MNC in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai
  • Rapid Reading, for an Investment bank in Singapore and Hong Kong
  • Presentation Skills, for an Engineering company in Singapore
  • Leadership Skills, for a Logistics company in Singapore
  • Munch & Learn workshops, (short sessions delivered over lunch or breakfast) on a variety of topics such as Networking, Dealing with Difficult People, Rapid Reading and Project Management
  • Paul has also facilitated off-site events for a Legal & Compliance department and a Regional Audit department.
