Our People

Winston Sherman

Winston Sherman is a senior training and development consultant with over 12 years experience in a wide range of organisations working with clients at all levels from shop floor to senior executive team level.

Winston specialises is all aspects of Management, Leadership and Teamworking including Change Management, Performance Management, Coaching, Influencing & Persuading, Negotiating and Problem Solving/ Decision Making. He has in-depth experience and expertise in Project Management and is accredited by the Association of Project Management and designs and delivers a range of project management programmes at different levels to a variety of clients.

Winston enjoys interactive workshops with a high level of delegate activity and his interests include organising and running outdoor Teambuilding and Leadership programmes in North Wales. He employs a mix of training techniques including accelerated learning, coaching, facilitation and experiential learning.

Career background

Winston is a Business Studies graduate and before moving into training and development worked for ICI for over twenty years in various locations in England and Scotland in a range of functions including Production, Engineering, Sales/Marketing and Distribution. As a Senior Manager he was responsible for corporate office systems development and he carried out a number of corporate strategy studies in Europe and North America which led to major systems changes.

Development Projects

In his current role Winston has focussed on Leadership and Management, working with clients to resolve issues and meet strategic needs. Examples of projects he has been involved in include:

  • Working with Warrington Borough Council as part of a programme to develop a Competency Based Framework. He then designed and delivered development programmes including People Management & Leadership, Effective Communication, Project Management, Selection Interviewing and Managing Change
  • Supporting the changes being implemented in the NHS through various Strategic Health Authorities he facilitated development and planning sessions for many Care and Service Groups. He also carried out training in Project management, Influencing Skills, Communications Skills, Leadership Skills, Meetings Skills and Rapid Reading Techniques.
  • Helping a major insulation manufacturer, Knauf Insulation, to implement changes to working practices and bring about improvements in Management and Team Leadership Skills, Winston organised and ran residential programmes for senior managers and team leaders/ supervisors.
  • Working with organisations to implement their own or specially tailored programmes such as co-facilitating on AstraZeneca's own Project Management programme and tailoring a Project Management programme to meet the needs of the Disabilities Rights Commission.
  • Providing tailored Negotiation Skills programmes to a wide variety of organisations including Unilever, Quest International, Shell, the NHS, Atos Origin and Thwaites Breweries.
