Recruitment, Retention and Succession Planning - June 2005
14th June 2005 - Kirtons Farm Hotel, Reading
21st June 2005 - Novotel Tower Bridge, London
'Recruitment, Retention, Succession Planning... What Shape Are YOU In?'
- The 'job for life' is gone and with it the 'workers for life'
- From graduation to retirement, individuals are increasingly focussing on mapping their career and the experience and credentials they can get
from one employer, before moving onto the next
- Non-financial motivators and company values such as sustainability, corporate culture and flexibility to work/life balance increasingly influence
the choice of employer among young employees
In order to absorb all of these developments while still operating a successful business, employers must find the increasingly elusive talent, keep this
talent within the organisation and be aware of the capability gaps ahead of time.
What shape is your organisation in to meet these challenges?
This Forum provided delegates the opportunity to discuss and debate issues such as:
- When to recruit, retain or plan for succession?
- What does best practice recruitment involve?
- Is succession planning still feasible?
- What has worked well for others? And why?
Summary of forum
With the strong facilitation of our experts in Recruitment, Retention and Succession Planning, this session was structured to enable such a large topic to
be debated with some real results and give them the opportunity to focus on the areas that were most significant to them.
The session encouraged groups to first draw up best practices in Recruitment, Retention and Succession Planning through their own experiences. It then asked
delegates to reflect on where those best practices may be of use in their own organisations. They left the forum with some ideas on how to improve their issues
back at the workplace.
Thank you to everyone who attended this forum and took part in the debates and discussions.
