Leading from the Middle
Wednesday 17 October 2007
Novotel Tower Bridge, London
In the past there has been a prevalent myth that CEO superstars transform organisations. In recent years this conventional wisdom has been challenged. The simple truth is that leadership does not reside solely in the hands of top executives.
Everyone knows it takes a whole organisation to build a company’s sustainable value. According to many experts and systems theory, the people with the greatest ability to influence and add value are a critical mass of change leaders in the middle of the organisation. So these people are our most important asset.
Managers in the middle of the organisation need to move away from believing they are crushed in the middle between demands from the top and bottom. Instead they need to appreciate the true power that they have to influence the organisation.
Your opportunity
During this forum we will:
- Explore a model which enables you and your managers to understand different tensions which influence the effectiveness of an organisation
- Recognise the range of roles that managers need to develop and integrate to be effective
MaST Theatre and Film will be helping to bring the model to life using two of their team of professional actors/trainers. You will have the opportunity of ‘directing’ the actors in ways that put the model to the test.
We look forward to an engaging session which will also incorporate best practice in Accelerated Learning.
